SOMATIC FLOW: SELF-PACED ONLINE COURSE
A gentle and nourishing six-week journey to explore embodiment, regulate your nervous system, and deepen your relationship with your body.
Somatic Flow blends yoga asana, somatic movement, breath awareness and nervous system education to help you reconnect with your body in a way that feels supportive rather than demanding.
This is not a “push yourself harder” yoga programme.
This is an invitation to slow down, listen to your body, and move in ways that support nervous system health.
WHAT IS SOMATIC FLOW?
Somatic Flow is a six-week embodied yoga journey designed to support nervous system regulation through movement, breath and awareness.
This practice blends:

Through embodied movement, we create space for you to come home to yourself — building strength, increasing mobility, and cultivating a deeper sense of ease in your body.
Rather than striving for perfection or performance, this practice focuses on noticing, listening and allowing the body to guide the pace.

In the body, awareness creates change
Our six-week Somatic Flow journey explores three layers of asana practice:
✔ The Physical Pose – finding steadiness and ease in your body
✔ Your Breath in the Pose – using breath as a guide to deepen your experience
✔ Presence in the Pose – building awareness and connecting with your inner experience
Alongside this, we explore Somatic Channels to expand your capacity to notice your body’s inner wisdom — moving in a rhythm that mirrors the natural flow of a healthy nervous system.
How the course flows
This course is designed to be completed over six weeks, with each session building gently on the last.
We begin by creating safety and familiarity within the body before exploring different somatic channels such as sensation, rest, and intuitive movement.
The practice gradually deepens awareness through breath, body sensation and presence — helping you build the capacity to notice impulses, honour what your body is communicating, and stay connected to yourself.

Designed to ease you into the practice and help your nervous system understand what to expect.
We’ll explore foundational movement patterns and introduce the Somatic Channels using the PELVIS framework created by Veronica Rottman.

We explore how your nervous system gathers information every six milliseconds to determine whether you are safe or not safe — and how this knowledge can support nervous system health beyond the mat.

This week we focus on proprioception — your body’s awareness of itself in space.
Through movement and props we support communication between your body and nervous system, helping create a greater sense of safety and ease.

We introduce gentle strength challenges to the practice (everything is always optional).
You’ll be invited to notice how your body responds to challenge and honour the messages it communicates.

We explore applied neurology by working with some of the 12 cranial nerves.
The nervous system’s primary requirement for health and longevity is sensing safety, and this week introduces playful ways to support that.

In our final session we integrate everything we’ve explored through movement, breath and embodied awareness.
You’ll revisit the Somatic Channels of PELVIS and practise allowing your body to soften into co-regulation and presence.

Meet your Facilitator
Hi, I’m Maxine!
I started practicing Yoga ten years ago and became curious how a group of people, each carrying very different struggles, could gather & practice yoga together and generally leave feeling a little lighter.
I began Yoga teacher training in 2020 and kept pulling on that thread. This led me to specialise in Yoga & the Nervous System, which led me to specialise in Yoga for trauma, which led me to Somatics and finally to specialise in Somatics for the female nervous system.
I am now a trauma trained yoga and somatic practitioner and my study continues…
